5 ways to stay safe on the road

All of safety starts by yourself.

Drivers share the responsibility of keeping themselves and others on the road safe. Many facilities have been made by the government to increase safety, but the numbers of injuries and deaths from road accidents are still high. If you are one of the pedestrians, you should do the following for more safety.

p1

The old woman are walking on the crosswalk that reason why she can live until now. (1)

1.Always cross at the crosswalk
Certainly, an overpass will be safer, but it is usually not there when you need it. So, choosing walk on the crosswalk is better. According to Thai law, drivers will stop for pedestrians first, but don’t forget to send signal for drivers before you step down on the road.

p2

Please wait the pedestrian signal for a few second. (2)

2.Obey any pedestrian signals and look left-right-left
If around the crosswalk there is a pedestrian signal, you should wait for that. Make sure it is safe before you walk.

p3

Say thank you with your smile and eyes contact. (3)

3.If a vehicle approaches, make eye contact with the driver
Making eye contact with the driver is important because it shows the driver see you and he won’t go before you cross. Don’t forget to say ‘thank you’ with body language.

p4

Wait for a while to see the cars stopped for you. (4)

4.Look before walking past stopped vehicles
When crossing the street, you should still look at vehicles until you’re done.

p5

Watch out motorcycles! (5)

5.Watch out for motorcyclists
Motorcycles are more dangerous than cars, because they are very fast and maybe crash you while you’re walking.

Don’t be a jaywalker! , please do the right things for your own safety.

If you just take the time for few seconds, you will have a longer time to live with someone you love.
